Care Instructions

All of our wooden objects are coated with Osmo oil. Osmo TopOil High Solid is a Food-safe Hardwax-oil wood finish which is extremely tough and hardwearing.

  1. Hand wash gently: As with any wooden utensil, it's essential to hand wash Osmo-coated utensils with warm, soapy water. Avoid harsh scrubbing or abrasive cleaners that can damage the oil finish. Never clean your wooden products in a dishwasher.

  2. Dry thoroughly: After washing, towel dry the utensils immediately and allow them to air dry completely before storing them away. Proper drying helps prevent moisture from penetrating the wood and compromising the oil finish.

  3. Avoid soaking: Avoid soaking utensils in water for extended periods. Promptly clean and dry them after use to prevent damage to the wood and finish.

  4. Use with care: While Osmo Hardwax Oil provides a durable finish, it's still essential to use utensils with care to avoid chipping or scratching the coating. Avoid using them to scrape or cut on hard surfaces and refrain from exposing them to extreme temperatures.

  5. Apply wax or oil as needed: Over time, this coating may wear off with use. Keep an eye on the condition of your utensils as they may start to dry out. Use our WoodWax as often as necessary to maintain a protective coating. If you feel that it is time to re-apply an oil I recommend sticking with the Osmo Hardwax and follow the manufacturer's instructions for reapplication.
